Ubud Area - PURA SARASWATI

Pura Saraswati or Pura Taman Saraswati, as the name suggests is a temple dedicated to Goddess Saraswati (Goddess of Knowledge and Learning). It was built by the royal family in the 19th Century. The temple was designed and conceptualized by Gusti Nyoman Lempad. The fact that Lempad was not only an architect but an artist too, is evident from the exquisite design of the structure. Interiors of the temple resemble a typical Balinese temple complete with stone carvings. Pura Saraswati's complex is as splendid as the temple itself, it has a beautiful lotus pond lined with trees. Do visit this religious site and seek the blessings of Goddess Saraswati. Please note that though this temple is not open to general public, a small path from the adjacent Cafe Lotus leads to the temple.
